Coast Development Authority endeavors to strengthen partnerships through collaborations with various institutions, agencies, Ministries, County Governments, and donor communities/NGOs in an effort to create a platform to share experiences in the emerging market and mobilize resources for development through PPPs.
The partnership includes the transfer of knowledge, resource mobilization, and building institutional capacity that will benefit the Region. PPP provide better value for money to the Authority, which means cheaper and better services over the long term. The investors are also able to recover their investment from user charges hence a win-win situation for everyone involved.
The areas in which CDA is looking for the partnership include exploitation of the blue economy, infrastructure development, renewable energy technologies, drought mitigation, and environmental conservation.
The PPP framework has key principles, such as risk sharing and allocation that allow transparency which is fundamental in the PPP process.
