Coastal development Authority makes a donation towards coronavirus relief in Mombasa County

Coast Development Authority Managing Director Dr. Mohamed Hassan Keinan, accompanied by Director Amina Abdalla and Director George Kithi delivered donations at the Mombasa Governor’s office. This effort is geared towards supporting coronavirus response since the outbreak of the COVID-2019 coronavirus in December last year, first identified in Wuhan.

The Authority donated sanitary towels and bar soaps to Mombasa County to help with relief efforts in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. The donations are meant to help cushion residents of Mombasa County against day to day economic short comings caused by the global pandemic.

The County multi-agency Covid-19 emergence response team chaired by County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo, and co-chaired by Governor Hassan Joho, have been having weekly meetings. Governor Hassan Joho app reciated all public and private organizations who had shown their support and urged everyone to rally together to support their neighbours during this difficult time for our region. In addition to upholding equal distribution of all donated goods, he emphasized that there will be transparency spearheaded by the Mombasa County Coronavirus committee in distribution of all items donated, working with all community partners who have volunteered to help fight the pandemic. “We know that we are stronger together and hope this support from both public and private sector will inspire others to jump in and do what they can to improve outcomes for our neighbours in need,” said the Governor.
